Southbourne is known for being a popular seaside resort in the suburb of Bournemouth, which is situated between well-known Boscombe and Christchurch. Southbourne makes for the perfect stay, with attractions all within walking distance. It is the home to one of the many local Blue Flag award-winning beaches, the miles of safe golden sands ensuring a perfect family day out. Just up from the beach and walking distance from the apartment you will find a very popular children’s play park on the cliff top, with the opportunity to stroll along to the local cafes. One tourist feature of Southbourne is the Fisherman's Walk Cliff Railway (they run between Easter and the end of October), a funicular railway between the cliff top coastal road and the promenade and beach. This provides very easy access to Southbourne's Blue Flag beach, from which it is possible to reach the beaches at Boscombe and Bournemouth. The main area of Southbourne is Southbourne Grove, which harbours a long shopping street which has a unique mix of individual shops and restaurants. Here you’ll find local amenities such a post office, bank, pharmacy and chain supermarkets including both Tesco's and Sainsbury's, for those who wish to cook at home of an evening.
