LOCAL AREA

In Tuckton you will find restaurants, takeaways and a variety of convenience stores. The Riverside Restaurant is very close by which is a lovely place to dine offering an impressive outlook over the River Stour. Just at the end of Stour Road is Wick Village which is on the southern bank of the River Stour just before it enters Christchurch Harbour. Wick River has many attractions including crazy golf, children's play park, tea room and a ferry which leads down to Christchurch Quay and Mudeford Beach. If you catch the ferry to Christchurch Quay you will find access through to the riverside walks, park, café, Boathouse Restaurant, bandstand, children's play area and an exciting water play park and paddling pool. On the Quay you can also take the opportunity to take the Vintage Ferry which runs regularly to Wick, Mudeford Sandbank and Hengistbury Head during the summer months (weather permitting). Southbourne beach is a short drive away where there is mile after mile of sandy beaches. In the other direction you will find the historic town of Christchurch which has a busy high-street offering a wide range of amenities to suit all of your needs. From shops, convenience stores, supermarkets and a weekly market you will find all the necessities virtually on your doorstop. In addition, Christchurch offers an excellent choice of cafes, bars and restaurants, including a Michelin Star restaurant in Mudeford, to make for the perfect evening. Other attractions include The Red House Museum and Garden, a Museum which offers exhibitions of arts and crafts, history and photography. Annually you can enjoy the now well established Christchurch Food Festival. Bournemouth town centre lies a short drive away offering varied and extensive entertainment as well as even more of the sandy, award winning beaches of the area.

The location of the ground floor flat is excellent. It's only about 10 mins walk into the centre of Christchurch. There's a great fish and chip shop nearby (Captain Cod). There's a Lidl within walking distance on Barrack Road and the Premier Inn if you fancy a big breakfast. We didn't park in the allocated parking space at the side of the building. For us it was easier to park in the road. The kitchen/diner is a pleasant area for four people to eat but it would benefit from some nicer cutlery. The double bed is fairly comfortable but the two single beds in the back bedroom need new mattresses. You might want to check with Bournecoast whether these thin mattresses have been replaced as you'll feel the wires and springs as you try to sleep.
