You will also find Mudeford Quay offering the ever popular family pastime of 'crabbing' from the quayside. The Quay Head is a pedestrian zone and the hub of activity set amongst a cluster of historic buildings thought to date from 1695 including the pub The Haven House Inn. Take a five-minute ferry-ride from Mudeford Quay and there is the unique beach huts on Mudeford Spit. There are toilets, a cafe and a shop on the sandbank. Christchurch Quay, a short drive away, offers access through to the riverside walks, park, cafe, Boathouse Restaurant, bandstand, children's play area and an exciting water play park and paddling pool which has many interactive features including water jets and sprays, a water play pump and wheel, channels and sluices as well as a paddling pool. On the Quay you can also take the opportunity to take the Ferry which runs regularly to Wick, Mudeford Sandbank and Hengistbury Head during the summer months (weather permitting).
