LOCAL AREA
The accommodation is within walking distance of the beach and local shops at Highcliffe. Avon Beach has been a family favourite for locals and visitors alike for generations, with its award winning beaches, clear waters and wholesome environment. If you walk along Avon Beach you will find The Noisy Lobster cafe, shop ice cream parlour and Fish and Chips. And further along still you will find Mudeford Quay offering the ever popular family pastime of 'crabbing' from the quayside. The Quay is known for its eighteenth century smuggling activities and battle with the Navy. The Quay Head is a pedestrian zone and the hub of activity set amongst a cluster of historic buildings thought to date from 1695 including the pub ‘The Haven House Inn’. Take a five-minute ferry-ride from Mudeford Quay and there is the unique beach huts on Mudeford Spit. In the evening in Mudeford you can enjoy a meal in the Upper Deck Bar & Restaurant with its stunning harbour views. Next door is The Jetty, the multiple award-winning restaurant, perched on the water’s edge. Also nearby to the property is Steamer Point which is a 24 acre cliff top designated local nature reserve (LNR) that is situated between Highcliffe Castle and Friar's Cliff on the Christchurch coastline. Highcliffe Castle is situated on the cliffs at Highcliffe. Highcliffe Castle has been described as arguably the most important surviving house of the Romantic and Picturesque style of architecture. Also within driving distance are the historic town centre of Christchurch and the vast New Forest.

Reviews & comments

We enjoyed our stay immensely. A lovely spacious house with a glorious location, overlooking the beach. We particularly enjoyed the old fashioned lawn and the sound of the sea at night.

Three generations of our family thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Silverwind. The location and accommodation was perfect for a beachside holiday and management of the booking was faultless. If available we would love to return next year.

We loved the house and its situation, so close to the beach. It was very clean and had comfortable furnishings with adequate equipment. There were a couple of minor maintenance problems which we notified to the owner before we left by leaving a message on her phone. It was a perfect location for a family seaside holiday and we all thoroughly enjoyed it so much our family group would love to book the house again for any week in August 2023

The property was lovely and the views magnificent. bottle of milk in the fridge was much appreciated as was the second door key which is rare with your properties. the windows need a good clean and some maintenance but that is more an observation than a criticism. please indicate whether the property is yet available for booking for next year. thanks

Excellent location. Wonderful views. Our thanks to the owner of Silverwind for the opportunity of staying at such a lovely property. The sea view has been a dream come true; as a disabled parent, I was able to visit the beach being so close by, with my daughter. Life changing week. We hope to be able to visit again in the future.
