A short walk away is Tuckton where you will find restaurants, takeaways and local convenience stores . If you walk through Tuckton you will come to Wick Village which is on the southern bank of the River Stour just before it enters Christchurch Harbour. Wick River has many attractions including crazy golf, children's play park, tea room, bumper boats and a ferry that leads down to Christchurch Quay and Mudeford Beach. Also just walking distance away is home to one of the many local Blue Flag award-winning beaches, Southbourne Beach. It has miles of safe golden sands ensuring a perfect day out. Just up from the beach on the cliff top at Fisherman's Walk you will find a very popular children’s play park, with the opportunity to stroll along to the local cafes. One tourist feature of Southbourne-On-Sea is the Fisherman's Walk Cliff Railway (they run between Easter and the end of October), a funicular railway between the cliff top coastal road and the promenade and beach. This provides very easy access to Southbourne-On-Sea's Blue Flag beach, from which it is possible to reach the beaches at Boscombe and Bournemouth.
