LOCAL AREA
Mudeford Quay lies just a short stroll away offering the ever popular family pastime of 'crabbing' from the quayside. The Quay is known for its eighteenth century smuggling activities and battle with the Navy. Close by is the famous "Run" where salmon are netted, and the sandy beaches of Avon Beach and Friars Cliff are popular with family holidaymakers. The Saxons knew Christchurch as Twynham - the place between the waters. The present name is taken from the great Norman priory church, which is the longest parish church in England, and is set amidst a jumble of little streets with quaint shops and restaurants. Alongside the Priory are ruins of the Norman castle. You may also try out ye olde stocks and even the ducking stool - the last one to be used in anger, and the Town Crier might tell you all about it. There are picturesque walks along Town Quay - the superbly restored 900 year old Place Mill is open to visitors, the very many swans and the river boat traffic add to the atmosphere here. Bournemouth is also short drive away as are the many local beaches of Mudeford, Southbourne and Bournemouth itself.

Reviews & comments

10/10 - This house was beautifully clean and a great location for Avon beach. It had everything you would need for a comfortable holiday. Great for kids, with a spacious garden. We stayed 2 weeks and would come back again.

4* - Good stay, property as described and interior nice and clean. Nice living room and good selection of board games. Walk to either Avon beach or mudeford quay in around 15-20 mins. Few niggles but Bournecoast quick and easy to deal with. Occasional road noise but nothing too bad. Garden a bit uninspiring…

We all really enjoyed our stay at the property. It was really clean and comfortable with great facilities. The washing machine and dishwasher were a nice touch. The beds were very comfy and of good quality, and the sofas were too. The position was convenient for both town and sea and we all liked the walking distance to the quay. We felt it was home from home in a good way and would be pleased to return again. We haven’t dealt with your company before but will definitely do so in the future, your service is excellent and your properties of good quality. Please let me know if you would like any further information and I will be happy to oblige. Many thanks for a lovely stay.

5* - Beautiful spacious house for my family. We had a great holiday. It was well connected and close to the quay/beach harbour spa hotel (for afternoon tea and spa!)
